To connect a mixing board to the Bose system:
- Connect each source (i.e. instruments and microphones) to the desired channels on the mixing board
- Set each mixer channel's input trim and level as desired for each source. For information on setting input levels, see Gain Staging and Setting Input Levels
- Connect the 1/4" or XLR Main Output(s) of the mixing board to the Bose system Inputs 1 and/or 2
- Note: The Input 1 & 2 jacks on the Bose system are combination jacks that accept 1/4" or XLR plugs
- Connect the LINE OUTPUT jack(s) of the Bose system's Input 1 and/or 2 to a powered speaker
Common setups:
- Mono:
- Connect a mixer's mono output to the Bose system's INPUT 1
- Connect the LINE OUTPUT from the Bose system's INPUT 1 to the input of a powered full-frequency speaker
- Stereo:
- Connect a mixer's left channel output to the Bose system's INPUT 1
- Connect a mixer's right channel output to the Bose system's INPUT 2
- Connect the LINE OUTPUT from the Bose system's INPUT 1 to a left side upper/full-frequency powered speaker
- Connect the LINE OUTPUT from the Bose system's INPUT 2 to a right side upper/full-frequency powered speaker the input of a powered full-frequency speaker
- Chaining systems:
- The LINE OUTPUT 1 & 2 jacks provide balanced output (1 output per channel) that can be sent to a powered loudspeaker or subwoofer
